So... This is the Mr. {Pretty Cute, Huh?} ;) He is preparing to hang up the curtain rod so we can  hang the curtains I made for our.........Laundry Room Shelf Makeover!!!!

So, this is the "before" pic.... {random drill, dog food, cleaning supplies & laundry detergent}

And the "after" pic, after 5 hours of sewing..... (yes, they are 9 ft. long!!! ) So it took 5 entire hours!  and... I might be a perfectionist, so I took my time..... Anyways, this is the finished product, and we are very proud!  I have to give the Mr. most of the credit for going to Hobby Lobby with me and picking out the fabric and for the whole idea to begin with... I think he's been watching to much HGTV...... just sayin'

Canvas Art

2 YEARS AGO...........
I bought a package of canvases.  My husband was threatening to throw them out, if I didn't do something with them! So.... I was at Faithful Scrapper and Amy mentioned she was going to do something fun with a canvas, so I brought my canvas up the next day at lunch! I started by painting the entire canvas a dark brown, then I stenciled on a cute design with gold metallic paint.  We used her Cricut to cut out the letters of my last name and est. 2010-our anniversary year.  So I Modge Podged the letters on!  I wanted to add a little more detail, so I hot glued lace onto the bottom of my canvas! The last thing I did was use these flowers that Jennifer Sloane at Live.Teach.Create cut out with her cricut.  She used pages from an old book! We sprayed the flowers down with *Glimmer Mist* then let them dry.  After the flowers dried, I crumbled them up, and then un-crumbled and layered 3 on top of each other, gluing one on top of the next..... then embellished the center with a button and glued them in place!  It was such a fun project, that I could not wait to start the next one............(see below)!!!!!

*here's an up close pic of the flowers! Aren't they adorable!

This is the next canvas I made.......... the next day!
I think I'm addicted.......
This is our little cousin Brianna! She just turned 9 and this was her birthday present!
I think she loved it......

*up close pic of the flowers! These were made of scrapbook paper! Oh, I love them!
Thanks for checking out my canvas art!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRANDON

So... you know those annoying people who wake up way to peppy in the morning? Well... That's me! Especially if there is something exciting happening on that day!  Like, last Saturday morning.... The 27th birthday of my dear husband, Brandon....  I woke up at 7AM so that I could hang the birthday banner I made for him for his birthday! I wanted him to be so surprised!

Turns out he was not as surprised as I thought he would be. he "accidentally" saw it the night before and he heard me hanging it that morning because I used nails & a hammer to hang the oh-so amazing banner! Oh well, He still enjoyed it and it's still hanging through our house! I love it!!!!!! The best thing about my banner is that I can re-use it over and over again! I can change the name at the end for someone elses birthday!  And guess who helped me make this banner? I'll give you one guess....

THE FAITHFUL SCRAPPER! ;) Thanks Amy!

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Baby Burp Cloths

I make these baby burp cloths from cloth diapers, by sewing on fabric! These burp cloths are great for tucking under a bottle, cleaning up messes and can also be used as a changing pad.  They fit perfectly into your diaper bag or purse! I love giving these as baby shower gifts! They are for sale, the fabric of your choice
6 for $25

Custom Crosses

When I am not at work, doing laundry, exercising, cleaning the house, cooking dinner or playing with Carlie & Copper (our 2 yorkies), I am making crosses!!! This is a cross that I made for my best friend! I make crosses as gifts and I sell them as well! I sell this cross for $55.  The first cross is painted the color of your choice.  The leopard print comes from tissue paper that I modge podge onto the wooden cross! Next I layer on the other 2 crosses :) Pretty fun, huh?
.
This is a cross that I made for my friend Shannon! It was a baby shower gift for her & her son Connor.  The first cross is stained a with a dark brown stain, then I modge podge blue and white polka dot scrapbook paper onto the cross, then layer the other 2 crosses on top! This one also sells for $55.  I custom make every cross, creating each cross differently to fit your personality & style!

Thanks for stopping by my little blog today! I would love to make a custom cross just for you!  Have a wonderful day!

Valentine's Day

This is the year that I will decorate for every major holiday! Starting with
Valentine's Day! This is my latest creation, inspired by my friend Amy at: faithfulscrapper.blogspot.com
You can get the materials to make this project at her store Faithful Scrapper.
I used scrapbook paper, letters and modge podge!
Trace the letters onto the scrapbook paper, cut out the letters on the paper and modge podge to the letters!
It's easy to make, and SO MUCH FUN!

Have fun!

EmmieG
